Summary
Abstract: The geological data sets for the Ford Ranges of western Marie Byrd
Land include:
- Structural measurements for minor brittle faults, fracture
arrays, and dike arrays
- 40Ar/39Ar geochronological data for mafic dikes and volcanic
rock samples
- Geochemical analyses (major, trace, and isotope) for Pleistocene
basalts
- Geological map of ... View entire text

COMPASSES Ancillary Description
Quality Compass measurements are accurate within +/- 5? of bearing or
inclination. Considerations are the strong variation in magnetic
declination in proximity to the S magnetic pole and working conditions
in the polar climate (element of human error due to high winds and
cold temperatures/bulky clothing).
