Summary
Abstract: The purpose of this dataset is to give geologists and other scientists a
spatial database of coal-bearing regions in China. This data set will be
utilized in energy research
and cartographic projects.

The data set covers of coal-bearing regions, coal fields, structural
sedimentary basins, major coal mine production, and other commodities in China.

Procedures_Used:

The coal-bearing regions were digitized from the Energy Mineral Resource Map of
China and Adjacent Seas, published in 1992 by the Geological Publishing House,
Chinese Institute of Geology and Mineral Resources Information and Institute of
Mineral Deposits of Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, utilizing ARC/INFO.
