Extents of fast ice digitised from satellite imagesEntry ID: gis283
Abstract: The Australian Antarctic Data Centre digitises on-screen fast ice features from satellite images as required for Australian Antarctic division scientists Dr Jonny Stark and Dr Martin Riddle and will be made available, together with a report on the digitising, when their project is published.
Features digitised include the extents of fast ice in the Windmill Islands and the Vestfold Hills area.
The data conform to the SCAR Feature Catalogue which includes data quality information. Each feature has a Qinfo number which, when entered at the 'Search datasets and quality' tab, provides data quality information for the feature.
Start Date: 2003-01-13Stop Date: 2012-09-11
Quality Data quality information for each feature in the shapefile can be accessed by entering the Qinfo number for the feature, given in the attribute table, in the 'Search Datasets and Quality' tab at the 'SCAR Feature Catalogue' web page (see url below).
The dates provided in temporal coverage are approximate only.
Access Constraints The sea ice boundary dataset is currently not available for download. It is being used for research and modelling by Jonny Stark (AAD)and is yet to be published.
