Summary
Abstract: This digital database comprises data recorded from the hydrophone during the GNDT 2 project. The hydrophone was installed on the frame of the GEOSTAR deep-sea multidisciplinary observatory, deployed offshore of the Eastern coast of Sicily (Southern Italy) at a depth of 2065 m.The sensor was connected to a 24 bit digitizer, and its time reference came from an external rubidium clock connected to the digitizer, and synchronized with the seismometer.

Purpose: As this site is of great interest given its proximity to the Etna volcano (~ 50 km) and to important offshore seismogenic structures, the main purpose of the hydrophone is to record seismic data in combination with the seismometer.
