Summary
|
Abstract:
The first Antarctic Mapping Mission, (AMM-1), began on September 9, 1997 and was successfully concluded on October 20, 1997. This 25-meter resolution RADARSAT-1 Antarctic Mosaic, from AMM-1, is a product of the NASA Pathfinder Project "RADARSAT-1 Antarctic Mapping Program (RAMP)" led by Dr. Ken Jezek of the Byrd Polar Research Center at Ohio State University. Canadian partners included the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), the Canadian Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS) and RADARSAT International (RSI). U.S. partners included The Ohio State University, NASA's Alaska SAR Facility (ASF), NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), and Vexcel Corporation. Additional support was provided by NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan (ERIM) and the National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA.)
