Abstract: The products Level 1C Ocean Full Polarization (SMOS.MIRAS.MIR_SCSF1C) and Level 1C Land Full Polarization (SMOS.MIRAS.MIR_SCLF1C) are multi-angular brightness temperatures at the top of the atmosphere, geolocated in an equal-area grid system (ISEA 4H9). Two different Level 1C products are generated according to the surface type: one containing mainly sea and the other mainly containing land pixels ... and therefore coastal pixel are present in both products. Land and Sea pixel are processed with two different Apodization functions that have the same value in the current processing baseline. Two sets of information are available: pixel-wise and snapshot-wise.
The MIR_SCLF1C product is obtained from MIR_SC_F1B products. It is organized in grid points, each point containing several brightness temperature samples TOA (on top of the atmosphere, at the antenna reference frame) acquired with different incidence angle, and also a number of geophysical parameters allowing geophysical corrections for atmospheric ionosphere effects and Earth Magnetic field in upper processing levels.
Snapshots are sorted in half orbits (50min). The swath width is approximately 600km for the Alias Free Field of View.
