Summary
|
Abstract:
The Quickbird (2 Nov 2010) images purchased by the AAD in May 2011 were orthorectified to correct for geometric distortions caused by relief displacement. Additionally, for change detection analysis the Quickbird images were co-registered to the Quickbird (15 Mar2005) imagery of Macquarie Island (satellite imagery catalogue 457).

Quality
| DigitalGlobe Quickbird specifications states a geometric accuracy of 23m at nadir(CE90). The Quickbird 2 November 2010 image has a cloudcover of 7.9 percent and off nadir-angle of 17 degrees. The image was orthorectified with ENVI 4.3 software using satellite RPC data and elevation data from the AIRSAR DEM (5 metre grid of Macquarie Island. Additionally, for change detection analysis the image was co-registered to the Quickbird (15 Mar2005) imagery of Macquarie Island. With this orthorectification process the large-scale relief distortions are removed from the image resulting in higher geometric accuracies. Data resolution 0.65m |
