HMO-PSWS PPM Total Magnetic Field Studies at SANAE IV, Antarctica
Entry ID:
HMO-PSWS_PPM_SNAOVH1
Summary
Abstract:
Absolute magnetic field studies at SANAE IV, Antarctica, are conducted with a GSM-19W high sensitivity proton magnetometer sensor, using the Overhauser effect to detect the absolute magnetic field. It is a In Situ land based application operating on base station mode, located at 71.67443°S 2.83058°W. The instrument provides a 0.2nT absolute accuracy over the full temperature range (-40°C to 60°C), with 0.01nT resolution.
The data have a temporal resolution of 5 seconds, and are stored with a time stamp and total field reading. Data are output in ASCII, and folders are named per date, e.g. SNAOVH1-yyyymmdd. Data units are nano Tesla.
