Summary
Abstract:
The base of the gray limestone aquifer is shallowest in Collier and Hendry Counties and slopes to the southeast and east. The altitude of the base of the aquifer generally ranges from 50 to 160 ft below sea level, but the basal surface can be comparatively irregular in some areas. The map shows the altitude of the base of the gray limestone aquifer in feet below sea level. The contour interval is 50 feet.
The purpose of this report is to evaluate the hydrogeologic framework, hydraulic properties, and ground-water flow of the gray limestone aquifer in southern Florida. The report also emphasizes the geologic framework (stratigraphy and structure) and the hydrogeologic framework (aquifers and confining and semiconfining units) above and below the gray limestone aquifer.
