Entry ID:
wilkes_traverse_stratigraphy_1961
Summary
Abstract:
During a traverse from Wilkes heading inland in 1961, numerous ice cores were drilled. Drawings of the stratigraphy of ice cores, along with density information for the core and a temperature profile from the hole were made for each of the cores drilled. 18 cores were drilled between 19 and 300 miles from Wilkes.
The physical records are archived at the Australian Antarctic Division.
