Abstract:
This Bathing Water in Ireland dataset holds the compliance status for the designated bathing areas from 1990 - 1996. For each of the parameters specified in the EC Directive 76/160/eec on Quality of Bathing Waters (total coliforms, faecal streptococci, salmanella, Entero Viruses, pH, colour, mineral oils, surface active substances, phenols, transparency, dissolved oxygen and floating materials) the dataset holds: the number of samples analysed by the local authorities for each bathing site; the number of samples which fail to meet mandatory, guide and national limit values for each bathing site; mandatory and guide values specified in the EC Directive 76/160/EEC; national limit values specified in (SI 155 of 1992) Bathing Water Regulations; the names and co-ordinates for bathing water sample sites in three to six figure Irish National Grid.
