Abstract:
The data were produced by several projects: Coastal Gradients of Flow, Salinity, and Nutrients; Freshwater Flows to Northeastern Florida Bay; Hydrologic Monitoring in Joe Bay; Flow Monitoring along the Tidal Caloosahatchee River and Tributaries West of Frankin Locks, Hydrodynamic and Salinity Characteristics of Rivers and Estuaries of the Ten Thousand Islands, Southwest Florida Coastal and Wetland Systems Monitoring, Empirical Studies in Support of a Pink Shrimp, Farfantepenaeus duorarum, Simulation Model for Florida Bay, and Sediment Transport and Saline Intrusion on Cape Sable, Everglades National Park, FL (a USGS-NPS Water Quality Partnership Program project). Data are available for 73 separate sites.
Purpose: The Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2000 authorized the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) as a framework for modifications and operational changes to the Central and Southern Florida Project needed to restore the south Florida ecosystem.
