Abstract:
Platte-Search is a search-and-retrieval database program with bibliographic information on approximately 1,500 publications, reports, projects and academic studies related to the Platte River Basin. The basin includes the North Platte, South Platte, Central Platte, and Lower Platte Basins encompassing the states of Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming. Platte-Search for PCs was originally developed at the University of Nebraska. It was later converted to a Web application by staff at Northern Prairie Wildlife Research Center. The Web version of Platte-Search (Platte-Search-Web) contains the same functionality and operates much like the PC version. The output from Platte-Search-Web can be viewed and printed in a table or list format. Keyword searches provide extremely fast retrieval, but other fields (e.g., Title, Subject, Author) can also be searched. The complex-search option of Platte-Search-Web contains a wide range of configuration options. Platte River Basin includes the North Platte, South Platte, Central Platte, and Lower Platte Basins encompassing the states of Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming. |
