Summary
Abstract: USGS EROS supported first responders and emergency services working in response to Hurricane Wilma. EROS channeled vital imagery to state and local governments, FEMA, and other federal agencies. These images helped prioritize relief efforts.

In cooperation with FEMA, EROS is the clearinghouse for all aerial, satellite, and ground information on areas struck by natural disasters. EROS receives pre- and post-hurricane imagery files of the affected areas and immediately uploads them to the Hazards database for rapid release to relief organizations and agencies, as well as government disaster management teams.
