Arabian Sea Sediment Trap Dust Flux and Grain Size Data
Entry ID:
NOAA_NCDC_PALEO_1998-029
Summary
Abstract:
This data set consists of lithogenic flux and grain size data from four
sediment trap moorings deployed perpendicularly to the coast of the Arabian Peninsula (~200 to 1250 km offshore, ~1000 to 3100 meters below the sea surface). Data record the lithogenic response to a full seasonal cycle of dust transport associated with the Asian monsoon circulation. Measurements were made on an Elzone 280PC particle size analyzer.
