Using Flow Cytometry, bacteria abundance was determined for samples collected in Oregon/California coastal waters, 2001-2003, GLOBEC, Northeast Pacific Program.

Abstract:
Standard cross shelf/slope sections (max. of 5) were routinely sampled with bottle casts to determine bacteria abundance and concentration of cells with high/low nucleic acid content. Sampling was conducted during 2001-2003 on 13 ship cruises to the study sites. Six depths were sampled focusing on the upper 100m with an emphasis on 0-50 depth zone and the depth of the chlorophyll-a maximum.
