Summary
Abstract: Landsat Burned Area Reference Product for Siberia (Russia)

The product presents burned area maps at 100m resolution for 26 Landsat/ETM+ scenes acquired over Siberian Russia during 2001-2002 time period. The dataset includes full WRS-2 scene classifications into 4 possible classes: 1) unburned area, 2) active burn (portions of the scars experience on-going burning at the time of image acquisition), 3) completed burn (no portions of the burned scar experience on-going burning at the time of image acquisition), 4) exclusions (areas of the image excluded from processing due to the presence of clouds, cloud shadows, or dense smoke plumes).

The product is projected to standard UTM NAD27 projection and is available in 2 formats: 1) raster format – GEOTIFF, Byte, 100m resolution, valid range – “1 – 4”, fill value – “0”; 2) vector - standard shapefile GIS format.
