Abstract: This data set contains boundary layers for the Goose Rocks Division
of Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge in Maine.

National Wildlife Refuges are federal lands managed by the U.S. Fish
and Wildlife Service (USFWS). The primary source for boundary
information is the USFWS Realty program (status maps, legal

Quality Digital refuge boundaries are plotted for arc and polygon
attributes, and compared to USFWS Realty status maps for coding
accuracy. Three levels of review are conducted (R5 GIS Lab, Realty
Program, Refuge Manager), and are repeated at each step until it
passes error free.

Use Constraints Refuge boundary data were compiled for resource applications. It is
inappropriate to use this data in legal situations, or other
applications where spatial error cannot exceed the USGS 7.5' mapping
standards.
