findL1Bmet: Finding Level-1B Granules using Level-1B Metadata
Entry ID: findL1Bmet

[ Update this Record ]

Summary
Abstract: FindL1Bmet finds specific MODIS Level-1 granules that have been
previously created by the DAAC. The user enters the
latitude/longitute pair as well as the inclusive data
dates. FindL1Bmet searches through an archive of L1B metadata
for granule matches. The code assumes that the L1B.metadata
files are accessible and complete. Metadata files should be in
the form of "MOD021KM*.hdf.met". (Note to Atmosphere Team
members: On the windhoek platform, L1B Metadata files are
located in directory /ingest/L1Bmet/.)

Use Constraints Language and Environment Requirements: Fortran 90, Bourne Shell
Script.

Limitations: The Level-1B metadata files to be searched must be
visible to the program. That is, the files must be accessible
from the platform where the program is running. This program
works only for identifying daytime granules. This program is
problematic in regions that cross the international date line.
This program cannot handle regions over (or near) the poles.

Installation Tips: Once the files are unzipped and untarred,
examine the README and HowToRun text files for more details on
installing and running the code.
