Abstract: The Global Raptor Information Network is a source for technical information on the conservation of diurnal birds of prey (eagles, hawks, falcons, vultures) with a searchable bibliographic database.

GRIN seeks to provide basic biological information on all species of diurnal birds of prey from the published literature and to report new findings as they become available. There is ... special emphasis on identifying conservation-relevant trends in raptor populations that may be occurring as the result of climate change, contaminants, or land use changes. Users can contact the actual principal raptor researchers who post homepages on the website, or request free PDFs of technical papers and book chapters on birds of prey at library@peregrinefund.org.

It features detailed accounts on the biology and conservation of 333 species of birds of prey, homepages for almost 300 researchers representing 73 countries, and a searchable bibliographic database containing 42,000 citations from the technical literature. An increasing number of studies are being conducted on the effects of climate change on raptors in Arctic regions and southern Africa, and GRIN provides a convenient portal to this literature.
