Abstract:
The Terrain Tools Freeware edition provides functions for creating and analysing maps. Coordinates can be entered by mouse or keyboard. Maps can be quickly created using information from a variety of sources including images (BMP, JPG or TIF) or ASCII coordinates. Drafting and annotation tools are provided as well as calculation of angles, distances and areas in both English and Metric units.
... -XYZ or LAT/LON coordinates can be entered directly using a dialog box or with a mouse.
-Survey data in bearings/distances format allowing for entry of legal surveys (metes and bounds).
-Coordinate information can be imported from external files in a flexible ASCII format.
-One or more bitmap images can be displayed in the correct spatial position by shifting, stretching and rotation.
-Map features can be organized into layers.
-Areas, lengths, bearings and grades can be displayed as labels or in a separate Status window..
-Manipulation of points, lines and arcs by scaling, rotation, joining, reversing, breaking, densifying and closing.
-User defined labels or automatic labeling of stations, distances, bearings etc.
-User definable linetypes and symbols.
-User definable opaque and transparent hatch types.
-Coordinates and attributes can be output in ASCII format.
-Context sensitive on-line help and tutorial manual with step by step examples.
Access Constraints
The Freeware Version can be downloaded and feely distributed on an "as is basis".

Windows 2000, NT or XP 64 Mb system RAM (128MB recommended) 800 x 600 resolution (1024 x 768 recommended) 256 colors (16 bit, thousands of colors, recommended) 50 Mb disk space (full installation including samples)

USES NOT PERMITTED You shall not: - Rent, lease, lend, sub-license, ... or transfer your rights under this Agreement. - Alter, decompile, disassemble, or reverse-engineer the Software. - Remove or obscure the Softree Copyright and Trademark notices. - Transfer passwords, hardware keys or other security related information.
CONDITIONS You agree that the Software, Software copies and Related Materials are the valuable property of Softree and embody substantial creative effort, confidential information, copyrighted works and trade secrets of Softree, all of which at all times remain the sole and exclusive property of Softree. This License Agreement gives you certain limited rights to use the Software, Software Copies and Related Materials. You do not become the owner and Softree retains title to all the Software, Software Copies and Related Materials. Except as specifically permitted by this license Agreement, you agree not to use for your own benefit, publish or otherwise disclose to others or permit the use by others for their benefit or to the detriment of Softree, any such Software, Software Copies, or Related Materials.
