Summary

Abstract: BGS·SIGMAmobile 2010 is the 2nd release of the BGS digital field data capture system designed to run on rugged tablet PCs with integrated GPS units. BGS·SIGMAmobile 2010 consists of heavily customised versions of ArcMap 9.3.1 and MS Access 2003 or MS Access 2007. BGS does not supply ArcMap or MSAccess as part of BGS·SIGMAmobile 2010. We recommend an ArcEditor licence, however much of the functionality is achieved using an ArcView licence. Tablet PC and GIS software are used for digital field data capture. BGS·SIGMAmobile 2010 is available free as for use by commercial and non-commercial organisations. Please read and accept the licence agreement before downloading. Note that any modifications or additions you make to the system must be sent to BGS for inclusion in later releases. BGS·SIGMAmobile 2010 is set up automatically to work in British National Grid format. It has been used successfully in many other countries and instructions for use outside the UK are included.
