The data is all generated by the National Weather Service. Reasonable documentation exists for the location, sampling procedures, and currency of the data.
Custom services have a fee structure that applies.
The SERCC maintains a full service climate data access facility which is staffed daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Staff members are also available for consultation 24-hours per day, and a voice mail system continues to operate when the office is closed. Faxed requests to the SERCC are filled within 24-hours, and FAX messages are routinely sent directly from the SERCC office to users. Requests are most often received by telephone, followed by FAX, letter, and electronic mail, respectively.|
The SERCC charges a fee for services. Standard requests for copies of one month of daily data from one or more locations are assessed a fee of $12.00. In general, the minimum fee is $12.00, but may be waived for educators and media. Additional fees are levied for FAX, overnight mail, and copies (10 or more). The fee structure is based primarily on cost recovery and is computed using costs of resources used and any excessive time. Personnel time is not a factor for requests which require less than 30 minutes to fill. The program income from fees is returned directly to the SERCC program budget.
