Forest Watch
Entry ID: Forest_Watch
Summary
Abstract:
The University of New Hampshire designed the Forest Watch Program as a hands-on
environmental science activity which involves teachers and students in field, laboratory and satellite data analysis methods for assessing the health of forest stands local to their schools. Forest Watch provides workshops for teachers, laboratory analysis of field collected white pine (Pinus strobus) needles, which are a known bio-indicator for tropospheric ozone exposure, and a web site through which the school's results are reported annually.
