Summary
Abstract: Prairie to Mountain Explorer (PTME) is a CD-ROM set of Geographic Information
Systems (GIS) data specifically designed for use in the classroom. GIS data
have been assembled for ID, MT, ND, SD, and WY for such themes as: bedrock
geology, roads, boundaries, cities, demographics, climate, land cover, land
ownership, species occurrences or habitats, rivers, watersheds and elevation.

Description: ArcView GIS is ESRI's powerful view-and-query program--a "GIS for everyone."
With it, you can manipulate and display ArcInfo files, modify data, add your
own information, and even add geographic features and customizations. You can
link all kinds of data and do some rather sophisticated analyses. Basically,
ArcView GIS enables geographic exploration through design of maps, charts, and
tables in response to an endless array of "What's it like?" and "What if?"
questions.

Description: As a consortium, UMAC is led by the University of North Dakota, and includes
participants from academia, industry, and government located throughout North
Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho.
