Abstract:
The Teton County, Wyoming Project Impact combines the resources of individuals, schools, churches and local businesses into a community-wide program that helps prepare for, and protect against, natural disasters before they happen. To help the community prepare for natural disasters, Teton County along with FEMA and Greenwood Mapping, Inc have delevoped an interactive natural hazards site that
... contains a map that allows users to pinpoint hazards at specific locations. Users of the map service can learn about natural hazards, such as floods or wildfires, that are associated with where they live.
The map was designed by Greenwood Mapping, Inc. and the Idea Gallery, and incorporates Teton County's existing GIS data. The interactive map is powered by the Open Source University of Minnesota MapServer.
