Summary
Abstract: Part of the NCEAS "Kids Do Ecology" Web site, Ask an Ecologist answers questions and provides information referrals regarding marine life, geology, oceans and landmasses, and other topics relating to ecology. The site also features an archive of previously asked-and-answered questions, an online learning lab and activity center, tips on collecting and charting scientific data, and more.

Ask an Ecologist is a volunteer effort by the scientists at NCEAS and answers 100% of all questions received, usually within a week. Replys are thorough and many supply links to additional information and online resources.

Users can also learn more about arctic ecology on the biome page. We've included basic information on plants, animals and food chains, and also some games and activities.
