Abstract:
The Global Patterns in Net Primary Productivity (NPP) portion of the HANPP Collection maps the net amount of solar energy converted to plant organic matter through photosynthesis. NPP is measured in units of elemental carbon and represents the primary food energy source for the world's ecosystems. This dataset is distributed by the Columbia University Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN.
The data in Arc/Info GRID and GeoTIFF formats and maps in Portable Document Format (PDF) and Portable Network Graphics (PNG) formats are available from the NASA Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center (SEDAC).
Purpose:
To be utilized in conjunction with a data set of human appropriation of net primary productivity (HANPP) in order to understand global energy flows and localized impacts on the environment.
Use Constraints
Modflow is best suited for higher education students, scientists and professionals seeking a utility to model ground water flow.
