Data granules contain approximately 190 minutes (2 orbits) of data and will include normalized backscatter, photon counter, cloud digitizer, and timing data that serve as input to higher level atmospheric products.
The purpose of this file is to store the LIDAR data related to atmospheric measurements as a GLAS Level 1A time-ordered product that has been corrected for instrument effects. The data will be at the full 40 per second resolution. The data will be geolocated to the sub-satellite location. This product is used to create GLA07. LIDAR scientists will be using this for validating the algorithms used for higher level products.
