Abstract:
The air temperature, soil temperature, and precipitation data for
Finland and western Russia reside in 1 book, 'Uber Die bodentemperatur
In Mustiala' (C/dba H765), and is written in German. The data
contained in this book are tables and graphs of daily temperature
observations, monthly averages of air and soil temperatures, and
precipitation totals for the cities of Mustiala and Heinais in Finland
... and St. Petersburg and Pawlowski in Russia, for each year of the
period 1885 to 1894. The surface parameters included in these tables
are the following: soil temperature at various depths at 9 A.M.;
monthly mean, maximum, and minimum temperatures at different depths
and 9 A.M. mean air temperature; daily and monthly precipitation
totals; monthly mean cloudiness; and mean seasonal snow cover,
including the latest and earliest dates of snow cover. The graphs
featured in this book are monthly mean soil and air temperature at
Muistiala and Heinais. The monthly temperature and pressure average
data reside in 1 book, Podil'skii viddil Ukrmeta. Biuleten' (C/db
AO-Up), and is written in Russian and French. The data contained in
this book are monthly and seasonal surface weather means for each
month from 1923 to 1925 for Europe and the Western USSR. These data
are in the form of maps, tables, and graphs. The maps in these data
include mean monthly isobars, isobaric anomalies, and storm tracks for
1925. There are graphs and tables of mean monthly temperature and
pressure for each month of the period 1923 to 1925. The monthly and
daily precipitation data resides in 14 books, 'Bulletin Societe'
Ouralienne D'Amateurs DesSciences Naturelles' (C/db S678), and is
written in French and Russian. The data contained in these books are
precipitation maps and tables for each month of the period from 1892
to 1912. The parameters included in these data are maps of monthly
precipitation and snowfall totals and tables including daily
precipitation, snowfall, and monthly rain, snow, hail, and
thunderstorm days. These books are part of the foreign meteorological
data collection held by the NOAA Central Library in Washington, DC.
Information in this collection dates back to the 18th century for
daily, monthly, seasonal, and annual tabular summaries, and the 19th
century for weather maps. These data are the result of foreign
exchange agreements, but the collection has not been updated since
1983.
