Abstract:
Temperature and relative humidity HOBO data loggers were installed in a number of locations inside the historic huts at Cape Royds, Cape Evans and Hut Point on Ross Island in December 1999 (two in each hut). In December 2000, 3 additional HOBO's were installed at Cape Royds and Cape Evans and an additional 2 at Hut Point. The data loggers were used to monitor the temperature and relative humidity
... in the huts for the purpose of determining if the conditions in the hut are favorable for fungal growth, to highlight areas of concern where conditions maybe more favorable, to determine the effect of tourists on the hut environment, monitor changes within the hut environments and determine the effect of the restoration projects occurring at these three sites. Currently the data is stored at the University of Minnesota.
