Abstract:
The vertical distribution of zooplankton was determined in the Cape Armitage area. A large number of samples were taken by streaming plankton nets at a range of depths over the top 200m. These samples were analysed to determine the vertical stratification of the zooplankton species in relation to the depth profile of ambient light. Vertical haul samples were also taken to compare the zooplankton composition with sampling completed in 1985 to see if the different ice conditions markedly effect the zooplankton community.
