this experiment began in 1966 on a site that was originally forested. The site then was used for potato, sunflower, wheat, pea, barley, lentil crops.
The land uses in the experiment are: Rotation 1 - wheat,maize,maize,pea; Rotation 2 - wheat,maize,maize,wheat; Rotation 3 - 4 x maize. Treatments: NPK fertilizers (20-40 treatments).
The soil at the site is described as a Hapludalt (USDA)
Apl 0-25 cm: ... blackish-brown very compact clay with polyhedral large crumbs. B1 25-40 cm: brownish-grey clayey loam with dusty, platey structure, compact. B2 40-58 cm: reddish-brown compact clay with prismatic structure and clay lessivation, ferric spots. BC 58-105 cm: brown compact clay with block-like structure and ferric spots. C 105-130 cm: light brown clay with ferric spots.
Nearest meteorological station to the site: Miskolc. which is 33 km from the site. The meteorological station is manual.
Variables measured are listed in the parameters section of this record.
