Abstract:
Firn cores were sampled from Law Dome, East Antarctic Plateau and the Megadunes site on the Polar Plateau, and air samples within were analysed for methane and carbon monoxide and other trace gas species to determine stable isotopes and radiocarbon isotopes (13CH4 and 14CH4). These measurements will allow the record for these species to be extended back to 'pre-bomb' times.
