Summary
Abstract: The Cape Hallett meteorology station is located at a latitude of 72.19 S, a longitude of 170.16 E, and an elevation of ~0.5 meters above sea level. The station was constructed in the 2001-2002 field season (April 30, 2002) and was set up to sample sensors every 30 seconds, except for the sonic sensor which is measured once an hour, and send summary statistics every 15 minutes. Meteorological data is collected year-round at the station. Variables that are measured include air temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, wind speed and direction and soil temperature. Additional climate data for the Cape Hallet area has been collected from as early as 1957 and is made available from http://www.lgp.aq/related-links/3897
