Abstract:
This is a non-exclusive database of high resolution aeromagnetic surveys.
Coverage currently exists in Alberta and British Columbia. Most sites are
located in Northern Alberta. There are four maps in the database for Canada.
There are a range of survey specifications and data products that are on
a per site basis. An example of information recorded for the Margaret Lake Area
in Alberta are
... as follows: 16,672 kilometres flown on a 1.6 x 4.8 kilometre
grid, flight altitude of sensor was 3200 feet (975m) and 3800 feet (1185m),
0.01 gamma resolution with a cesium vapour magnetometer, 0.5 second recording
digital and analogue formats.
Data is available for various surveys from 1980 to the present. New
surveys are acquired on a continuing basis.
Data products include maps and profile products such as residual total
magnetic intensity contour maps, vertical gradient contour maps, structural
interpretation maps, etc. at a scale of 1:100,000, and composites of the maps
at 1:250,000 and 1:500,000.
Access is on request as these datasets are owned by Geoterrex or by
Geoterrex and industry participants. There is a charge for the data. Data
procurement selection criteria is by Lat/Long coordinates. Supplier can make
data available on either paper or magnetic tape/disk. Please contact the data
centre contact for survey purchase information.
Datasets are also available for selected sites in the United States and
other parts of the world.
