Summary
Abstract: Over 2,500km of high resolution seismic data was collected from the Ross Sea Region in the Victoria Land Basin to provide information to determine the history of ice margin and water depth changes implied by drill hole data at Cape Roberts and CIROS drill sites. The survey was conducted from the RV Nathaniel B Palmer (NBP0401) which was not able to penetrate fast ice to collect data directly over the Cape Roberts Project site. However, the collected data was added into the existing grid of seismic lines to help determine the stratigraphy of the Victoria Land Basin and southern McMurdo Sound.

Quality Note that most international marine databases for ship collected data usually follow a unique identifier for the cruise. In this case it is NBP0401. (i.e. NathanialB Palmer 2004 and the 1st cruise that year). All of the data (raw, processed, etc) related to the survey are lodged in the tape database at GNS (main keyword is NBP0401). Finally seismic data collected in Antarctica is required to be lodged with the Seismic Data Library system and is available at the attached link (http://sdls.ogs.trieste.it/). For more information, please contact the investigator.
