Abstract:
The MEaSUREs Global Record of Daily Landscape Freeze/Thaw Status, Version 01 data set is derived from the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) satellite series using the Special Sensor Microwave Imager (SSM/I). The parameters in this data set include AM freeze thaw, PM freeze thaw, combined freeze thaw, transitional freeze thaw, and inverse transitional freeze thaw states of water. The ... data set presents global coverage from morning, afternoon, and daily combined overpasses from 01 January 1988 to 31 December 2007. The data set is available through FTP and contains files in the HDF5, PNG, and GIF formats. These data were generated through a grant from the NASA Making Earth Science Data Records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) program. Note: These data are considered provisional pending a review by the MEaSUREs project. Once the data has been reviewed, this statement will be removed from this documentation.
