Abstract:
The data resides in 5 books, 'Meteorological Review' (C/db M589)
written in Russian, English notes. The data contained in these books
are tables and maps of Russian daily and monthly surface climatic data
for each month of the period 1924 to 1928. Daily variables
incorporated in the tables are mean air temperature, precipitation
totals, and snow cover thickness. Monthly parameters contained in
... these tables are: mean pressure and temperature; absolute maximum and
minimum temperature; temperature and precipitation deviation from
normal; and number of days of frost, precipitation, hail, and
thunderstorms. There are maps of the following parameters: mean
monthly air temperature; monthly amount of precipitation of different
intensities; monthly departure of precipitation and temperature from
normal; and daily thickness of snow cover.
These books are part of the foreign meteorological data collection
held by the NOAA Central Library in Washington, DC. Information in
this collection dates back to the 18th century for daily, monthly,
seasonal, and annual tabular summaries, and the 19th century for
weather maps. These data are the result of foreign exchange
agreements, but the collection has not been updated since 1983.
