Abstract:
The National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Climate Forecast System Reanalysis (CFSR) was initially completed over the 31-year period from 1979 to 2009 and will be extended in real-time into the future. CFSR is initialized 4 times per day (00Z, 06Z, 12Z, and 18Z), and the 6-hourly atmospheric, oceanic and land surface analyzed products are available at 0.3, 0.5, 1.0, and
... 2.5 degree horizontal resolutions, along with forecast hours 1 through 6 and 9. For more information about CFSR, please see http://rda.ucar.edu/pub/cfsr.html [http://rda.ucar.edu/pub/cfsr.html]. As of 21Dec2010, we are still obtaining the data and archiving it into the RDA. If you are NOT an NCAR user with access to the MSS, we may be able to make some files available to you by special request. However, we do not currently have the resources to provide access to the entire dataset. NCEP has started to run CFSR for 2010. The 2010 data are expected to be available in late spring of 2011.
