Abstract:
The World Ocean Database features observed oceanographic profile
data and interpolated standard depth level profile data. Measurements
include historical in situ temperature, salinity, oxygen, phosphate,
nitrate, nitrite, silicate, pH, alkalinity, chlorophyll, and plankton.
World Ocean Database 1998 Version 2 is an updated version of World
Ocean Database 1998 (WOD98) released May, 1998.
All
... on-line corrections to the data have been incorporated into this
version of WOD98. In addition, the World Ocean Circulation Experiment
(WOCE) Version 1.5 CD-ROM Hydrographic data were added.
There are two products from WOD98v2: the CD-ROM data which are
geographically-sorted, and the online data which are time-sorted.
To facilitate the use of WOD98v2 , the Ocean Data View (ODV4.0)
software developed and distributed by Dr. Reiner Schlitzer of the
Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research, Bremerhaven,
Germany is included on CD-ROM (only). This software will decompress
files from WOD98 and allow the user to plot scatter or station plots
of selected areas or cruises, property-property plots, and many other
data viewing utilities like property distributions along sections or on
surfaces.
