Summary
Abstract: The climate data resides in 4 books, 'Bulletin Meteorolgique Publie Par
L'Intitut Central Meteorologique a Varsovie' (C/dbb AO-p) written in Polish and
French. The data contained in these books are tables of hourly observations
from 1926 to 1927 and daily, monthly, and annual surface climatic data for
Polish cities from 1811 to 1927. Parameters included in the hourly
observations are pressure, temperature, vapor pressure, cloud cover, humidity,
and winds. Daily variables for each individual month are snow depth and
precipitation. Monthly parameters for each individual month represented in
these data are the following: mean temperature and pressure; mean maximum and
minimum temperature; temperature deviation from selected periods; precipitation
amount days of precipitation; and wind direction frequency. Monthly
precipitation, only for Warsaw, is averaged over the period and includes
monthly mean amount, variations of the monthly mean, and annual variations from
the period of record. Maps included in these data are mean monthly isotherms,
isobars, and precipitation amounts. These are for each individual month from
1926 to 1927.

Additional climate data resides in 3 books, 'Pameitnik Fizyjograficzny Wydawany
Staraniem Tome II' (C/dbb AO-wp) written in Polish and French. The data
contained in these books are tables of hourly observations from 1881 to 1888
and daily, seasonal, and annual surface climatic data for Polish cities from
1826 to 1888. Parameters included in the hourly observations are pressure,
temperature, ozone, cloud cover, humidity, precipitation, and winds. Daily
parameters for each month incorporated in these data are mean pressure,
humidity, wind direction, ozone, cloudiness, and precipitation totals. Daily
variables averaged over the period include normal pressure and temperature, and
mean maximum and minimum pressure. Seasonal parameters included in these data
are mean seasonal temperature for each year and averaged over the period, and
the difference of temperature between the hottest and coldest months. An
annual parameter is the absolute maximum and minimum temperature for the
period.

These books are part of the foreign meteorological data collection held by the
NOAA Central Library in Washington, DC. Information in this collection dates
back to the 18th century for daily, monthly, seasonal, and annual tabular
summaries, and the 19th century for weather maps. These data are the result
of foreign exchange agreements, but the collection has not been updated since
1983.
