Abstract:
The hourly, daily, and monthly data resides in 1 book, 'Observations
de la station meteorologique l'Ecole Reale de Jurief (Dorpat)' (C/dba
Y95), and is written in Russian and French. The data contained in this
book are tables of hourly surface observations and daily and monthly
weather totals for each month rom 1903 to 1906. These data are for
Dorpat, Estonia. Parameters included in the hourly
... observations are
pressure, air and soil temperature, humidity, cloudiness,
precipitation, winds, and sunshine. Daily parameters are means of wind
direction and speed, and maximum and minimum temperature. The number
of days of snow, hail, fog, thunderstorms, lightning, precipitation,
and wind direction are tabulated for each month as well.
Additional data resides in 1 book, 'Untersuchung Von Bodenluft in
Dorpat Ausgefuhrt in Den Monaten Juli bis September 1890' (C/dba
F893), and is written in German. The data contained in this book are
tables of hourly observations of surface parameters for Dorpat,
Estonia. These data are for the months of July to September of 1890.
The parameters included in the hourly observations are temperature,
humidity, and moisture at different depths of the soil, oxygen and
nitrogen content of the soil, pressure, rainfall, subsoil water,
winds, and cloud cover.
These books are part of the foreign meteorological data collection
held by the NOAA Central Library in Washington, DC. Information in
this collection dates back to the 18th century for daily, monthly,
seasonal, and annual tabular summaries, and the 19th century for
weather maps. These data are the result of foreign exchange
agreements, but the collection has not been updated since 1983.
