Map Server For the State of Arizona
What it is:
An Internet Map Server that provides visualization and analysis of geospatial information on the web.
Potential Uses:
The Map Server will provide the user with the ability to visualize many layers of spatial information about their land. Some layers simply provide navigation information such as political boundaries and road networks. Other layers
... will allow users to visualize information obtained from satellites such as Landsat TM vegetation classification, vegetation indices from AVHRR or MODIS, or look at high resolution satellite data (IKONOS) or aerial photography. The map server will also be used to integrate ground measurements with satellite data. For example the vegetation data taken on the V-Bar-V transects can be compared with vegetation greenness (NDVI) long term average data. Some other data layers will provide ground information that will be useful for the user. The TES units and the associated database will be available via the map server. The user can click on a TES unit and get the available vegetation and soils data associated with that unit. Eventually, the rain gauge data will be available which will allow the user to click on a rain gauge and get graphs and tables of precipitation records.
