Abstract: The Global Land Cover Facility makes available to the public a variety of free science data products including satellite imagery of the Earth, classified images of the Earth's land cover, Marsh area health data, and much more.
It facilitates the distribution of data products and provision of analytical services based on the extensive program of on-going research on remote ... sensing data.
The major emphasis of our research has been addressing critical global and regional scale terrestrial Earth Systems Science issues that are central to NASA's Mission to Planet Earth, which caused us to pay considerable attention to process and analyze AVHRR data, Landsat observations and other observation sources that appear to provide additional important information.
The GLCF is a member of the ESIP Federation and is categorized as a Type 2 ESIP which work toward both creating and distributing novel land cover data products to users in the Global Change research efforts as well as many other general users. In addition to our activities as an ESIP Science Data Center, we also are active in a number of critical Federation-wide initiatives and activities.
