Abstract:
NCDC maintains a repository of weather model data sets and data assimilation
model data sets, and distributed access to climate model data sets. They provide
access to weather model forecast data in real-time as well as access to
historical data in the repository. They also provide a variety of ways to access
these data. You can access the on-line data using traditional access methods
(web-based or ftp), and you can use open and distributed access methods under
the collaborative approach called the NOAA Operational Model Archive and
Distribution System (NOMADS). NOMADS allows you to access numerical weather
prediction model data and global climate model data at many other sites on the
web in addition to the NCDC site.
