Abstract:
The dataset consists of three-dimensional (3D) tidal and buoyancy/wind-driven model circulation fields for the western continental margin of Vancouver Island, with averages for summer and winter. The parameters are computer generated 3-D currents and sigma-t values. The physical component is a 3-D prognostic finite element model, that extends from 47-51N, eastward of the 3500m depth contour, halfway up Juan de Fuca Strait. The physical model will be calibrated and evaluated with both historical data and measurements.
Purpose:
Integration of monitoring and process study work, into a coupled physical/plankton/fish model for the western continental margin of Vancouver Island.
