Abstract:
Spectral Ocean Wave Model is historical digital dataset DSI-9782, archived at the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC). Major data variables and parameters are wind speed and direction, friction velocity, white caps, spectral energy. The original data file was created by the U.S. Navy at FNOC, Monterey. The file was edited and resorted. Related files are DSI-9791 Spectral Ocean Wave Model Grid Data from FNOC (C00431) and DSI-9797 Global Spectral Ocean Wave Model (C00245). FNOC was the U.S. Navy Fleet Numerical Oceanographic Center. It has become FNMOC, Fleet Numerical Meteorological and Oceanographic Center.
Purpose:
To make a wide range of climatic data available to researchers and the public.
