Abstract:
U.S. Navy Marine Climatic Atlas of the World is a climatology atlas, available from the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC). These atlases contain climatological summaries for the following meteorological parameters: wind speed and direction, air temperature, temperature extremes and temperature-humidity index, sea surface temperature, humidity, wet bulb, precipitation, visibility, cloud cover,
... ceiling and visibility, sea level pressure, waves (period, direction, height), and tropical cyclones. Monthly meteorological values are presented in the form of isopleth analysis, contingency tables, and duration-interval tables. Limited oceanographic information is also presented on tides, currents, and sea ice. The atlas is hardcover and is approximately 15 by 10 inches in dimension and approximately 350 pages. The two volumes that are available for purchase are Volumes IV (South Atlantic) and V (South Pacific).
