Abstract:
Weather Depiction Charts is a product that is available from the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC). The data plotted on these charts come from the National Weather Service (NWS). The plotting model on each station circle is an abbreviated version of the complete aviation observation and includes significant weather, visibility, total sky cover, and ceiling height. Fronts, types of precipitation, areas of precipitation, and squall lines from the previous hour are also depicted. Chart times are 01, 04, 07, 10, 13, 16, 19, and 22 GMT. Recent charts can be ordered online from the NCDC. Older charts can be ordered offline.

To make a wide range of climatic data available to researchers and the public.
